Ryan Cioccari

Ryan Cioccari, born in 1998, is a Paralympic athlete living in Lugano. Born in Milan, he moved at a young age with his family to Switzerland, where he continued his studies. There, he also began to play sports regularly, playing tennis and windsurfing, but above all swimming, going so far as to train every day in the swimming pool. He’s passionate about nature photography and motors and became a wheelchair user at 19 after a motorbike accident.
Once out of hospital, he returned to Milan to study physics at the Statale University. At this time, he met Samanta Demontis. The Apulian paracyclist told him about Obiettivo3, urging him to apply to relaunch his sporting career at Paralympic level. Ryan accepted and dove headfirst into the new world, was recruited by the project, and started to compete in his first paracycling events. Once he got to grips with his new sporting environment, he also took up archery and swimming, his former love.
