Pierluigi Bonafin
Rovigo

Pierluigi Bonafin, born in 1972, is originally from Rovigo, the city where he grew up and made a name for himself. He’s always been a sports enthusiast, following different disciplines. As a typical Rovigo resident, he played rugby for several years as a teen, switching between the oval ball and the swimming pool, with swimming being perhaps his greatest love. A love shared with the mountains, where he skis in winter and rock-climbs in summer. He did all this without neglecting his studies, with a commitment that earned him a law degree at the University of Ferrara. Over the years Pierluigi has made his name as one of the most renowned criminal lawyers in Rovigo and has also opened an office in Verona.

And then there is Michela, his partner, with whom he was involved in a major motorbike accident in May 2018. The consequences were severe and both had their left legs amputated. The shock was deep, but so was the desire to get back on the bike and live this new life. Sport would once again act as a driving force for Pierluigi, who together with Michela met Pierino Dainese, contacted Alex Zanardi and joined Obiettivo3. The lawyer went back to swimming in the pool; at the same time he discovered cycling, and started to gain confidence with the handbike. Gradually Pierluigi returned to work and also began to explore another issue close to his heart, that of the legal aspects associated with disability.
