Michele Grieco
Trento
Michele Grieco, born in 1990, is Obiettivo3’s Trentino member. At the age of 12, an osteosarcoma requiring a long treatment resulted in the installation of an internal prosthesis in his left leg. This disease marked his adolescence, but didn’t stop his studies, which led him to a tertiary qualification as arboriculturist. He then began his career, up to his current job as a landscape gardener at Levico Park. At the same time, he became more and more involved in sport, starting with swimming. As the years went by, he started dreaming of participating in an Ironman and began to train on foot and by bike. Sport also plays a decisive role in his view of life and his disability.
His prosthesis, never fully tolerated and always psychologically rejected, became a strength. This radical change of perspective also came about thanks to Obiettivo3. His wife Sara enrolled him at the recruitment day in Padua in June 2018, where Michele met our coaches who advised him to devote himself mainly to cycling. He heeded the advice, was recruited by the team, and threw himself body and soul onto the two wheels.
