Laura Roccasalva
Roma
Laura Roccasalva, born in 1991, is a Roman cyclist based in Rocca Priora. She’s always loved exhibitions, graphics and literature, and attended an art-focused high school before enrolling at university. Her life changed all of a sudden in 2015, when at 24 she found out she had multiple sclerosis. It was a blow, especially as the first treatments worked poorly and made her pain worse.
But slowly Laura recovered and remembered a hobby she’d started shortly before her diagnosis: mountain biking. So she decided to throw herself into cycling, this time on the road, encouraged by her doctors. Cycling as an outlet, passion and therapy, in classic Sclerobikers style. The Sclerobikers are the group that Laura joined after learning about Obiettivo3 on social networks and being recruited by sporting director Pierino Dainese. In the meantime, the young Roman cyclist resumed her studies, interrupted by the disease, and graduated in Literature, Art, Music and Performing Arts.
