Giacomo Perfigli
Fivizzano (Massa Carrara)

Giacomo Perfigli, born in 1984, is a Paralympic tennis player from Fivizzano in the province of Massa Carrara. He began playing sports as a child, first football and then judo, which he loved. At 17, in his fourth year of high school, a motorbike accident left him with paraplegia. After rehabilitation, he graduated and set off on his new life, soon turning to sport. He started with archery, tried table tennis and also fell in love with scuba diving, to conquer his fear of water. Sport is the best vehicle for training the body and also the mind, a motivation like no other that Giacomo uses to improve himself day after day.

In this spirit, he began playing wheelchair tennis in 2019. He played his first rounds in Livorno, then moved to the Unità Spinale Sports Group in Florence. There, he learnt about Obiettivo3, decided to apply, and was recruited by the tennis initiative, which took him to train in Pistoia. He works at the Massa local health authority, is in a relationship with Beatrice, loves reading and racing quad bikes.
