Fabrizio Caselli
Firenze
Fabrizio Caselli was born in 1968 in Pelago (Florence). He grew up working as a glazier and loves scuba diving. An accident during a dive caused him to lose the use of both legs in 2000, at 32. Sport helped him fight back and get back on his feet. The first discipline he started practising was handbike, category H5, which led him to win the pink jersey at the Giro d’Italia in 2014.
In 2011 he also began practising Paralympic rowing with great success, a discipline in which he won five Italian titles in the single (AS category). In rowing, he also wore the national team jersey several times, took part in world championships, earned a bronze medal in the World Cup, and finally reached his proudest achievement: participating in the Paralympics in Rio. In recent years, he has also tried the para-bobsleigh with excellent results, and he’s also a tutor (introduction to sport) for Obiettivo3 athletes.
