Fabio Serraiocco
Lanciano (Ch)
Fabio Serraiocco, born in 1977, is a cyclist from Lanciano in Abruzzo. His love for cycling started early, and between the ages of 14 to 22 he also raced at a competitive level. Work and other commitments made him give up cycling until, after 40, he decided to get back into shape and started running. But one never forgets their first love, and it comes with a touching story.
Fabio began to feel unwell in 2019, underwent his first medical examinations, and at the end of February received his diagnosis: multiple sclerosis. But that same day, a few minutes after the hospital report, he also received a call. It was the shopkeeper, telling him: “The bike you ordered has arrived”. It was a fateful sign that Fabio seized, jumping headlong back on the pedals. The bicycle once again became a faithful companion in his adventures, even in the fight against the disease, and that is how Fabio learnt about Obiettivo3 on the web. Through his fellow Abruzzo native Lorenza Ziccardi, he first got in touch with Sclerobiker Alessandro Cresti, then with the Obiettivo3 managers who welcomed him into the team, opening the door to new challenges.
