Erika Scrivo was born in 1986 in Calabria and, after a stint as a chef, now lives in Florence. In 2007, she lost the use of her legs following a severe accident while hiking. The period of rehabilitation was long, but her determination and the expertise of her carers enabled her to regain her independence.
It was during rehabilitation that Erika’s life and sport intertwined for the first time. First she played wheelchair basketball, then, after meeting Piero Amati, she approached Obiettivo3 in 2019. Since then, Erika tried handcycling (a novelty for her), and after only a few months she won a silver medal at the Italian championships.
