Andrea Meschiari
Sassuolo (Mo)
Andrea Meschiari, born in 1982, is from Sassuolo, Italy. Sporty from an early age, he dived into the pool at 4, soon participating in youth competitive swimming events. Andrea competed until the age of 18, when he decided to give up the sport to try something different. He’d been doing motocross for some time, until a motorbike accident in November 2009 resulted in paraplegia.
So, also for rehabilitation purposes, he returned to swimming, before turning to triathlon. As time went by, he became more and more interested in handcycling, given his love for everything related to the technique and mechanics of the bike. Andrea, who now lives in Castellarano and works as a mechanical draughtsman, has improved year after year. He’s won numerous races (he also came fourth and fifth at the Italian championships) in a category like H3 that boasts such legendary names as Mestroni, Podestà and Cecchetto. In November 2019 he joined the Obiettivo3 team in pursuit of ever greater goals.
